Available position: Production employee in the Knitting Department

Janusfabrikken is looking for an experienced and independent production worker for our knitting department.

We are in an exciting phase, as we have recently been awarded a major long-term contract to supply clothing to the Norwegian Armed Forces. In addition, we have introduced new collections launched this autumn, which have been well received in the market.

The position we are now advertising is a combined role that will cover needs in two departments and two different stages of production. You will be part of a work schedule where approximately 50% of the role will involve working as a knitting machine operator in our knitting department, and the rest will involve post-processing of the fabric, where it is inspected and split before moving on to cutting and sewing. This position requires flexibility between these departments, as workload will vary depending on season and demand.

Your main tasks will be:

  • Knitting machine operator in our knitting department
  • Operator in post-processing
  • Shift work

Desired qualifications and personal qualities:

  • Trade certificate in circular knitting (experience can compensate for formal education)
  • Technical or electrical education in automation
  • Structured, precise, and self-driven
  • Proactive and solution-oriented
  • High level of integrity and reliability

Why work with us?

  • Great opportunities for professional development
  • Salary according to the textile industry’s collective agreements

Skills:

  • Knowledge or familiarity with wool yarn
  • Technical insight
  • Willingness to learn
  • Ability to identify and suggest improvements

About the employer:

Since 1895, we have proudly knitted quality products at our factory outside Bergen, with respect for craftsmanship and care for nature. With us, you will become part of a traditional yet forward-thinking environment, where together we create garments that warm people for generations.
